Client:  Board of Trustees

Project Manager:  Milne Project Management

Architect: Fat Parrot

Project Value:  $2,000,000

The project was to complete a New Library for Pinehurst School located in Albany on the Auckland’s North Shore.  This is the third project Astley Construction has completed for this private school.

Astley Construction worked alongside the design Team Fat Parrot to bring their vision and this project to a modern facility with creative private nooks, split level areas and an internal lift for special needs access. Three Toilets, one being an accessible toilets were also included in the new build.

The new Library was built between an open space of the school grounds.  Either side of this open grassed area, The Gymnasium and The Arena. The New Build connected these two buildings together to create one big building, The Arena, The New Library and The Gymnasium. The existing Library was situated above the Change Rooms in the large Gymnasium.

To connect the buildings a new Two Storey Structure was built, upstairs the New Split Level Library and downstairs a sprung floor dance studio. (Pinehurst did the fit out downstairs).  The New Library is split level incorporating old and new. The existing Library was refurbished and the new build seamlessly connecting both spaces and now a large open Library for quiet reading, studying and a place to relax and enjoy.

This was a 10 month project from January 2019 to October 2019.
