Epsom Girls Grammar School

The project was for Refurbishment works to ‘L Block’ at Epsom Girls Grammar School located in Central Auckland.

The existing building was built in 1970. And with the release of Government funding this building was earmarked as an Innovative Learning Environment conversion in keeping with the Ministry of Educations initiative. The project was to convert this old building and to provide vibrant, well connected, flexible learning spaces. The building was a series of small classrooms within the large 976 square metre space.

The works included internal layout changes, mostly non-structural, (demolition of internal walls) to convert the existing teaching space into a large modern open plan space. Works also included additional outdoor learning spaces, decks, toilet refurbishment and roof replacement.

This building is now a modern open plan light and bright space upgraded to a high standard and now a great showcase for the rest of the school.

The time frame for the project was 9 months.
